Summary: Dig into the personality and heart of our brewery - our COO Cavapoo Masamune, with a premium 42% Omachi competition-standard Junmai Daiginjo. Perfect for a gift for a dog lover, for sake nerds looking for a local expression of the heirloom Omachi rice, or just drinkers looking for a good representation of the best our brewery can achieve.
**A Letter From Reuben, Our Co-Founder**
We're kinda in a tough bind.
We're producing more than we have ever produced before - reaching out to more of you than we've ever had before. We've run out of rice on several of our key SKUs even, almost doubling the expected demand that we had for this year. Utama Tropic and Classic won't return (after this stock) for another 5-6 months.
We're still a small five-person brewery in Singapore. We employ majority Singaporeans, and we pay Singaporean rent, along with a variety of mishaps and repair renovations from building a brewery off a previous defunct beer brewery (probably the first sake brewery in the world to do so). We're in the perfect position to brew at even 2x our current 2x rate from last year, quadrupling our total output from before.
We're looking to lower prices on our craft bottles, to bring a more affordable drinking option to this little red dot that represents our Singaporean, and Japanese roots, to the tee. We'll need help though, as we take upon this quest to become one of the leading sake breweries in the world - all in our tropical home.
In comes Masamune, our Cavapoo dog COO who's been our pillar of strength for the past year of constant work and upgrades we've been doing here in Jurong. We love dogs, and we want to do something that not only benefits us, but another charitable vision that aligns with our hearts.
He can't exactly brew, dog fur and ongoing fermentations don't make for a good combination, and he'll probably try to lick any spillage off the floor. So we've made a sake representing him instead. A raw, unpasteurised Nama brewed with the highest grade Omachi rice from Okayama (Akaiwa) polished to 42%, in a 720ml bottle. A sake full of heart, representing the heirloom, rustic variety of rice we're using, while also keeping to the core Singaporean/Japanese heart of Junmai Daiginjos we've been brewing till date.
And 5% of proceeds go to SOSD (Save Our Street Dogs) to be made on International Dog Day, in honour of our naughty boy.
